Tehran, June 14 (EFE).- At least 60 people, including 20 children, were killed in an Israeli attack on a residential building in Tehran, Iranian media reported on Saturday.

“Sixty people, including 20 children, died in an Israeli attack on a residential building in Shahid Chamran, Tehran,” state-run Press TV reported.

The Tehran Times confirmed the report, adding that the 14-story building, which was struck by Israeli projectiles on Friday night, housed employees of Iran’s Ministry of Defense.

Iranian authorities have not yet officially confirmed the casualties from the attack on the building.

The overall toll from Israel’s ongoing offensive has risen to 78 dead and 320 injured, according to Iran’s representative to the United Nations, Saeed Iravani.

Israel launched a series of strikes early Friday morning targeting military, nuclear, and civilian infrastructure across Iran.

New strikes were reported Saturday morning on Mehrabad Airport in Tehran and the northwestern city of Tabriz, which is home to a major oil refinery.

Targets of the Israeli offensive include nuclear facilities such as the Fordow and Natanz uranium enrichment plants, Mehrabad International Airport, and multiple military bases.

Iran responded Friday night with at least three missile strikes on Tel Aviv, which reportedly left three people dead and around 38 others injured, according to Israeli media. EFE
